Little KW

This one is going to be fun. I am starting with my customers Kubota RTV as a base. I have already had a turbo installed on the 3 cylinder diesel engine. Let the transformation begin...

"you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet..."

This is a full 8 hours worth of work to get mirror images made of steel...
Another 8 hours to mount the front end. Tomorrow I'll make the hinges. The back 2/3's of the cab will open as a door.

Skeleton is done...
Wrapped in metal...
With an opening door...

Rear tire mocked up...
Custom built rear axle...
Moved the parking brake...
An old Chevy Astro bench from the bone yard...

Building the top of the bunk...
Weld... weld... weld...

Cutting these windows was a little nerve racking...

Frame extended and axle mounted. I found a nice spot for the train horn...

Fenders... 8 hours of work for 2 fenders that are half mounted...

Fenders are mounted...

Trailer hitch...

Rear bed frame...

Aluminum bed...

Access to the engine...
Rear of the cab is done...
Rear window...
Exhaust is mounted and secure...
The entire upper portion of the front of the bunk is tinted Lexan so you will be able to see through it...

Tinted Lexan for the bunk windows. When the windows are up, it will look like the side of the bunk...

Only one stack will function...

Final trim in stainless steel...

Moving to the interior... I made a "glove box" on the passenger side.

Access to the brake reservoir is also accessed thru the glove box...
I moved the Kubota dash to the left side of the cab. All of the idiot lights will function as they did originally... The stainless steel wraps took forever to produce...

I made the ladders out of 1/2" diameter solid aluminum rod that I polished before I built the ladders.
Ladders mounted and foot hiding panel finished.

Fake fuel tanks

Details, details, details...
