A new project for my son... 1466 AWD

A year ago I started a project for my son. It was going to be a 2 wheel drive 1466 with a cab... well let's just say plans have changed. I received a call from a potential client looking for a top notch 2 wheel drive 1206 replica. After looking online for a donor, I couldn't find the perfect candidate... So I presented an idea to my son. Could I sell his 2 wheel drive chassis that we had been working on... if that meant I could buy him a 4x4? He answered with a huge "YES!!!!!!" So I presented that to the potential client. He was all for it.

Eli (and I) are very happy with this change. I am having a turbo installed on it right now as well as a new clutch. My mechanic is going to put an oil pressure gauge as well as a water temp gauge... I want to teach Eli how to watch gauges, just like my Dad taught me.

Here it is with a new set of fenders...
My Dad suggested the tractor needed a paint job. Eli agreed...
We taped it off and Eli went to work...
 He's definitely my son...
 Ready for a plow day...
Serious fun at a plow day...
After a days worth of modifying what I had made for the 2 wheel drive chassis... Headed off to the mechanic's for some internal and external hardware...

A turbo charger and a happy boy...
We took it to a plow day and had some fun...

Tear down, clean up and start shooting...

A small project that I'm working on... an adjustable 3 bottom plow. I have to make this little tractor earn it's keep...

When set wide, it cuts 3'.
I will be able to narrow it up to 2' for heavy ground.

A little more work...

The first time he saw it in person with the dual's on was priceless...

So... Eli asked me if we could switch the machine to a 1206. Initial I said no, but then I realized that I had a customer who wanted a 1566... So I pulled all of the sheet metal and grill off Eli's tractor, and installed them on the customer's machine.

Some video's from a local plow day...

1206 Custom chassis...

I received a call from a gentleman in Indiana who wanted a loaded 1206 diesel... After looking on line for an Iseki chassis, and not finding one, I talked to my son, Eli and we decided to offer the chassis that I was building for Eli. The customer agreed and Eli and I started looking for a 4x4 tractor.

This is what I started with... a "Super" Cub Cadet with a bad engine.
3 cylinder diesel out of a "Thermo King" straight truck refrigeration unit. Yanmar built the engine for Thermo King.
Eli and I working on the tractor when it was still his...
I don't normally scratch build swinging draw bars and 3 point hitches... but it was for my son so...

 Turbo and 1466 grill installed...

And then we sold it...

This is the progress so far... She has turned to a 1206

Steering is done and works very nice...

 Headed to the sandblaster...
Some red paint... This is this 1206 and my son's 1466's parts as well...

Starting to look like a tractor again...

Almost done...

Kurt

About the Little Tractors...

Hello, I thought I'd address a few questions about these custom, hand made, half scale tractors. ...
